Fellas, February is upon us and you know what that means...Valentine's Day!! Thinking of where to take your lady for a nice meal and some drinks? Why not come down to Eski Bar this month and enjoy our signature cocktails and Valentine's Day specials. All this month, we will be serving some new dishes to spice up that special day.

First up, we got the Baked Salmon with Mango Hollandaise Sauce. Mm mm mm, sounds delicious :D But perhaps fish isn't the right dish. No problem, we got you covered. Instead of seafood, you can chow down on a juicy Chicken Parmigiana with Marinara Sauce. Just thinking about these two specials is making me drool. To finish, a glass of house wine is also served to wash down all that yummy good stuff.

As always, our bottle promos and beer bottle bucket offers are still around as well as so you guys are definitely spoiled for choice. In addition, come down on Wednesdays for Ladies' Night. Open bar for the beautiful women from 8-11pm and a live set from DJ Third Culture! Check out his sick mixes here, this dude is the real deal. So come on down to Singapore's only Sub-Zero bar this February! Have a drink, get some grub, and chill out in our ice bar. Hope to see you guys there!

A Little Background On DJ Third Culture

Based out of Middlebury College in Vermont; San Francisco, California; and Singapore, Kyle Smith, or DJ Third Culture, has only been in the EDM scene for a little over two years but has already made waves with his various mixes and collaborations that have amounted to rave reviews. As with all aspiring DJs, Kyle started off simple and modest, playing for house parties in old warehouses and frats. It was here that he met up with regional DJs such as Reilly Steel, which gave him the confidence and inspiration to pursue DJ-ing professionally. With such support and backing, Kyle co-founded "BPM 802", a promotional group and DJ collaborative with its headquarters in Burlington, Vermont. In addition to this, the "BPM 802" radio show was created and broadcast on 91.1 WRMC, the official radio station for Middlebury College.

As his music spread throughout the campus, Kyle was soon asked to be a guest DJ at The Bunker, a local nightclub.  Generally known in the area as "the place to be", The Bunker would eventually become the home for Third Culture, transforming him into the resident DJ as well as manager of the nightclub. Under the new management, the club introduced "Bunker Blackout Fridays" as well as "Bunker Down Saturdays", much to the anticipation of the local crowd. With each passing week, word spread of the new resident DJ and soon, The Bunker would fill the 250 capacity space every night. Not bad for a guy only a year into the business.

Now residing in Singapore, Third Culture is currently working on a debut EP as well as releasing small bi-monthly mixes. The Face Melt series was first conceptualized in mid 2011 and is now 9 mixes in, a few of them featuring up-and-coming or established regional  DJs such as long-time friend Danny Weird (San Francisco, California), DJ Gotta Eat (Seattle, Washington) and DJ B.M.A.C (New York, New York). With such varying music incorporated in the Face Melt mixes, the music of Third Culture has garnered a quiet, yet loyal following over the past couple months. You can check out the mixes here on his Soundcloud. In addition to the Face Melt series, a new monthly podcast has been released on iTunes. "Third Culture Sessions", as it has come to be called, features progressive and melodic house and features the latest songs and tracks from the biggest producers in the business. With such an extensive background, Third Culture has also been offered the chance to open for Zirca's resident DJ: DJ Inquisitive.

As of February 1, 2012, the works of Third Culture have been featured on various EDM blogs and radio shows. Watch out, I'm about to drop some names., BacauHouseMafia, and Bingo Balls have all featured various mixes, most notably Cry Just a Little in 2012, a New Year's Eve bootleg. A writer for the Bingo Balls website had this to say about Third Culture:

“I actually had the absolute pleasure of seeing Third Culture spin live when I brought DEFEP up to Middlebury [VT] for a show earlier this year.  Young guy with a lot of natural talent and even more potential. Definitely keep an eye on him…”

- Bingo Artist Management (FL, US) -

Although still relatively young, Third Culture is set to make his mark on the world this year with his explosive and addicting blend of beats and rhythms that will surely set your body in motion. If you are in Singapore and would like to catch Third Culture live in action, you can head down to Eski Bar every Wednesday night. Have some drinks, bring your friends, and chill in the cool atmosphere of the bar. Like the Eski Bar Singapore page on Facebook and you could stand a chance to win a free bottle of Absolut Vodka.

Hope to see you guys soon!
